I earned my PhD from Stevens Institute of Technology in organic chemistry and I have taught for many years at the university level. My classes tend to average about one hundred students per semester and throughout the course of teaching I have received excellent ratings from student evaluations. Throughout my career I have been dedicated to research in my field and teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. My specialty is focused on organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry as it relates to drug design, and spectroscopy. I currently tutor students in organic chemistry, analytical chemistry, and various other science courses. As an experienced educator, researcher, and mentor I have the skills necessary to help students move to the next level of understanding in their coursework. When a student is struggling with a particular concept, sometimes it is necessary to give them something physical to do to see the concept in motion. This is where research and experiments become valuable teaching tools. I also recognize that most students who are struggling in my field of expertise need to become more comfortable with the discipline itself before they will be able to gain competence or even mastery. To that end, I make a point of making my students feel comfortable with me and the subject matter.
